Design as you go

Commonly known as the play as you go method.

Make the game you want to play

Player flow through your game might also be just considered as the overall game experience. Most independent developers will subscribe to this methodology, being that they enjoy playing games, and the idea being by playing the games they create, they will inevitably create a game that is fun to play. This is almost rarely ever the case. It does not work as most independent developers would imagine, because it turns out the needs of a single game or, are not the same needs of a successful independent game title.

From the startup world, “start with why”

At the end of every day there are literally hundreds if not thousands of new releases of video games, demos, and related software.

Why are you creating your game, why does your game need to be created, and what distinguishes your game from all the others. These are questions we need to answer upfront, and these answers will evolve and change over time with our project.
